Craig Bellamy has revealed that he turned down the opportunity to manage Burnley during the summer, stating that the role with Wales is “the right place for me.” The 47-year-old was a candidate considered by the Championship side, which ultimately appointed Nicky Hayen.

Bellamy is now gearing up to guide Wales in the Nations League, beginning with a trip to Portugal on Thursday next week, the first of four fixtures during the extended international break.
